John Fisher Kanyemibwa

John has been a practicing Advocate of the High Court of Uganda for over twenty one (21) years. He is a member of the International Bar Association, East African Law Society and Uganda Law Society. He achieved the LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law at the University of London.

He plays a major role in the Corporate and Commercial aspects of the Firm. Currently, he is called upon to give legal opinions pertaining to legal compliance and regulatory issues to the firm’s clients especially to Banks.

Lead consultant on the Stanbic Bank Note Issuance program on the Uganda Stock Exchange.

Member of the Board of Directors, Capital Markets Authority.

Has been at the forefront of many corporate transactions and notable among these are the listing of Stanbic Bank Uganda limited and Bank of Baroda Uganda Limited on the stock exchange for their initial Public offers .

Team Leader for the Stanbic Bank note Issuance program of Shares worth Ug.Shs.100,000,000,000/=

Team Leader for the increment of share capital and issue of Bonus Shares for Bank of Baroda Uganda limited. In charge of the overall assignment.

Team Member – Legal Team for the review and amendment of Stanbic Bank’s Memorandum and Articles of Association to delete Uganda government interests in the said bank following privatization and top bring the Articles of Association of SBU in harmony with the Articles of the rest of the members of the Standard Bank group of South Africa.

He has been listed as one of the notable legal practitioners in Uganda by Chambers Global and other leading law publications.

Previously taught the law of Business associations at the Faculty of Law Makerere University.
